Rudie Baby is becoming Budi. It is the same business, the same team and the same products you know, with a new name that gives us room for everything we are building next.
Rudie Baby will always be where this story began. For five years, families have trusted us through toilet training, wet beds, big milestones and plenty of very ordinary messy days. Budi is not about leaving that behind. It is about taking everything we have learned and carrying it forward.
Where Rudie Baby began
Rudie Baby started in Perth in 2021 with one mum looking for toilet training products that made sense for real families. I wanted something practical, comfortable and reusable, something that helped children learn without turning every accident into a full change of clothes and a clean-up of the floor.
When I could not find the right product, I decided to build it. Our first Toilet Training Pants sold quickly, and parents told us they had been looking for the same thing. That response became the beginning of Rudie Baby.
We kept listening. Training pants led to training underwear, leakproof bedding, Bobby the Bear and a storybook created to make toilet training feel friendlier for children. You can read more about those early years on our Rudie Baby story page.
Why the name needed to grow with us
Rudie Baby was created for the first part of the journey. Over time, the families we supported grew, the problems they brought to us changed and our ideas for new products became much bigger than the place where we started.
Inside the business, we could feel that the name no longer held everything we wanted the brand to become. We were planning products for new stages, new routines and more of family life. We wanted a name that could grow alongside those plans without losing the warmth and practicality that made Rudie Baby special.
This was not a quick decision. We spent months talking, testing ideas and asking ourselves what should stay at the centre of the brand. The answer was always the same: products that genuinely help, a team that listens and a relationship with families that feels personal.
How we found Budi
After months of planning, we kept coming back to Budi. It felt warm, simple and full of personality. More importantly, it felt right for the products we were already creating and for the families we hoped to support next.
A new name can look like a small change from the outside. For us, it carried five years of memories, late nights, product samples, customer messages and the trust families placed in Rudie Baby. Choosing Budi meant finding a name that respected all of that while giving the brand somewhere new to go.
We did not want to change for the sake of looking new. We wanted the name to match the business we had become.
The families behind the decision
We have always built products by listening to families, so we approached the name in the same way. We spoke with mums and customers who knew Rudie Baby, showed them what we were considering and listened carefully to what felt natural to them.
Budi resonated. It felt approachable and easy to remember, but still had space to grow beyond a single product or stage. Those conversations gave us confidence because the name was not only making sense inside our team. It was connecting with the people we were building it for.
That customer input matters to us. Rudie Baby grew because parents told us what was working, what was missing and what needed to be better. Budi will keep growing in exactly the same way.
Same business, same team, same products
The most important part is simple: Rudie Baby has become Budi, but the people and care behind the brand remain the same.
Our Toilet Training Pants, leakproof bedding, books and the rest of the range are still here. The team answering your questions, checking products and packing orders is still here too. We will keep improving every product using the same real family feedback that shaped Rudie Baby from the beginning.
During the transition, you may see Rudie Baby on some products, packaging or pages and Budi on others. That is expected. You do not need to change how you shop or contact us, and the support behind every order remains the same.
Making room for what comes next
The transition to Budi is happening as we prepare new products for 2026. We are not ready to share every detail yet, but the direction is clear. We want to support more of the everyday stages that ask a lot of children and parents.
Products like our Toilet Training Underwear already show how the range has evolved. They were created for children who had moved beyond heavier training pants but still needed a little support on the way to regular underwear. That kind of in-between moment is exactly where thoughtful products can make family life easier.
Budi gives us room to keep solving those moments. The name is new, but the way we work is not.
What you will see during the transition
For a while, Rudie Baby and Budi will appear together. You may also see us referred to as Budi Kids online. All of those names lead back to the same business and the same team.
Our current website remains the place to shop, read our News & Guides and contact us. Existing Budi Kids web addresses also bring you here, so there is nothing customers need to update or learn.
We are taking the transition carefully because Rudie Baby means a great deal to us and to many families. We want people who have known us for years to recognise the brand they trusted, while giving Budi space to become familiar in its own right.
The next chapter, together
More than 75,000 families have let our products be part of deeply personal moments. First trips to the toilet, first dry nights, setbacks, small wins and the point where a child finally says, “I can do it myself.” We have never taken that trust lightly.
Rudie Baby gave us our beginning. Budi carries that story forward with the same amazing products, the same amazing team and plenty more still to come.
Thank you for growing with us. We cannot wait to show you what Budi becomes.
